The Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education (CIJE) was founded in 2001 to enhance and enrich the quality of Jewish education throughout the United States. CIJE brings hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) learning to more than 170 Jewish day schools and yeshivot across 17 states impacting thousands of students annually. CIJE believes that Jewish day school graduates should be prepared to succeed in an ever-changing global society and to reach their potentials in their future careers and life. CIJE seeks to upgrade the technology and programs available to Jewish day schools and yeshivot so that the education these schools provide is world-class.

Job Description:

As CIJE begins a new era of programming, they seek a Director of Advancement, dedicated to advancing their mission and growth. The Director will assist in designing, creating, and coordinating a comprehensive, long-term strategic development and fundraising program. This includes setting fundraising goals, cultivating donor relationships, foundation research, and major gifts. The Director will work alongside the executive team, reporting to the Executive Director to support short-term and long-term financial planning and growth to maintain and expand the mission of CIJE.

Specific Duties will Include:

  • Develop an effective strategy for national fundraising.
  • Create and maintain a list of potential financial donors including corporations, foundations, and individuals.
  • Ensures that the organization retain its donors but also ensures that new donors are brought into the organization.
  • Produces relevant and informative fundraising literature for distribution to donors and the public.
  • Attends relevant workshops, events, networking functions, and one on one meetings.
  • Attend CIJE student events and effectively communicate the purposes of the organization.
  • Managing the development software and ensure that it meets organizational needs and stays up to date.
  • Manage a portfolio of principal and major gift donors and prospects. Create and execute cultivation, solicitation and strategies for top level donors and prospects.
